Strength Training for Physical and Mental Health

Resistance training (Strength Training) is based on the principle that muscles of the body will work to overcome a resistance force when they are required to do so. When you do resistance training repeatedly and consistently, your muscles become stronger.

"Body weight only" workouts lead to muscle gain through variations of flexibility and balance. The number of repetitions are important in both strength and body weight exercises. As the body becomes stronger, it is necessary to increase the stress placed on the body to continue to build muscle strength. Adding barbells to the workout is a simple method to incrementally increase resistance.

More than meets the eye

Research has shown that exercise releases chemicals in your brain that make you feel good while boosting your self-esteem, helping you concentrate as well as sleep, look and feel better. A lot of people workout simply to become more physically attractive and don’t realize the positive effect it has on their psyche.

If you can dedicate 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week, you will achieve not only the physical attributes of becoming stronger and looking good, but will feel stronger and think sharper as well.
